In 2011 I wrote this note in your Christmas card and the sentiments are still true today and will be forever:
“Dear Mom,
It seems like only yesterday when I couldn’t wait to get up Christmas morning and open the wonderful gifts that Santa left underneath or sparkling silver Christmas tree. I know you couldn’t afford much but it didn’t seem like it to me because you always managed to make Christmas a very special and joyful occasion in our home.
Whether it was all those delicious homemade cookies that you baked or those festive hand made stockings (with our names you stitched on them) that you stuffed with surprises or all the nights you stayed up late decorating our home and trimming our tree, it was your personal loving touch that truly made our Holidays the best.
And of all the Christmas gifts that I’ve ever received, non compares to the best gift and that’s you Mom. Thanks to the Lord (and you taking care of yourself), I get to enjoy another Merry Christmas with you. I don’t know how I’d cope without you in my life. Thanks for your love and support. I hope 2012 is a very healthy and happy one for you.
